J & D UK Ltd is a tutoring and educational consulting company based in Hammersmith, London, which helps prepare students - mostly from China, Hong Kong and Singapore - for a wide variety of examinations including 11+, 13+ and 16+ school entrance assessments, GCSEs and A-levels.
Our tutors work flexible hours according to their availability and that of our students, with lessons mostly on weekday mornings and evenings, weekends and school holidays. Lessons are mostly taught remotely via Classin, an online learning platform, however we sometimes have our London-based tutors come to our office to teach in-house. We are currently looking for Maths specialists with tutoring experience and excellent subject knowledge who can teach Maths at KS1-3.
The ideal candidate has:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or experience as a classroom teacher or examiner
- A bachelor's degree in English or a related subject (or is currently studying for one)
- Teaching / tutoring experience
- A strong scientific background
- Patience and motivation skills
- Great communication skills
- Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum in Maths
- Excellent behaviour management and organisation skills
- A DBS check (can also be acquired on offer of a contract)
You will need to:
- Plan and prepare lessons in accordance with students' individual needs
- Teach lessons 1:1 via Classin
- Set homework
- Assess and monitor pupils' work and provide lesson feedback
- Record students' progress
