GCSE English Tutor (In-Person)

Role description:

Be the difference in a student's understanding of GCSE English. You will be a dedicated Secondary English Tutor who can work in-person at the student's home.

You will have solid in-person GCSE maths tutoring/teaching experience and be familiar with the national curriculum and relevant exam boards.

· Experienced tutor required for English  (GCSE)

· Daytime tutoring to take place in the student's home

· Competitive hourly rate £25-30/hour

· Tutoring to take place over the 2024-25 academic year.

Responsibilities of the tutor/s:

  • Build positive relationships and help the student to overcome barriers to learning
  • Plan and deliver English lessons aligned with the GCSE curriculum
  • Implement teaching and learning strategies based on the student's learning requirements and make adjustments to maintain focus and keep them engaged
  • Complete session reports of student’s engagement, progress and attainment, record weekly attendance figures.

Requirements for the role:

You will be a tutor who:

  • Has experience teaching/tutoring English at GCSE level
  • Has a gift for making GCSE English accessible to students
  • Is able to work with the student (in-person) in Oxford, OX1/OX4 Oxfordshire
  • Has an affinity with and ability to work with young people.
